• Call No Man Abba

  Jesus called God by the ordinary Aramaic word for father — and forbade giving that word to men. His followers did both the opposite ways.

  Muslims refuse the word Jesus used. Christians give it to the men Jesus refused it to. Neither is doing what he said.

• The Meshullam: Jesus Abolished Rank, Not Teaching

  Luke 6:40 gives the disciple an end-point. Matthew 23 forbids the only other one. The result is a community with no religious caste — and the Qur'an later reviews the caste that grew anyway.

  Jesus gives the forward cancellation. History builds what he cancelled. The Qur'an gives the targeted review. Both books meet on the same religious caste problem — and both leave the Muslim, the meshullam, standing outside it.

• They Drank the Wrong Blood

  "Eat my flesh, drink my blood" was explained by Jesus in the same chapter — and the explanation is the one the whole Old Testament uses.

  The Church kept the cup and dropped the sentence that explained it. They drank the wrong blood.

• The Table Spread

  In John the disciples ask for bread from heaven and the request is left on the page. In the Qur'an the same request is made — and answered.

  They asked for bread from heaven. It was sent. And the man who asked for it on their behalf ends the chapter asking for them one more time.

• Abraham the Shelim

  The Qur'an calls Abraham a Muslim. So does the Torah's official Aramaic translation — and a Christian Hebrew lexicon of 1827 explains the word with the word "Islam."

  Not a new claim about Abraham. It is the Targum's own word.
